Reading the Heroes of Newerth tooltips and lore causes me a substantial amount of psychological pain.
It’s like they’re not even trying to hide the fact that 90% of the time they are just slapping arbitrary functions together with no defined playstyle in mind, and then hastily gluing vague and often nonsensical flavor text onto them.
There’s almost always a playstyle...
I went on Goodreads today for some reason. The first post I saw was a caution against reading “The Vagina Ass of Lucifer Niggerbastard”, which is apparently not a fantastic work of literature. The writer of that post presented as a better option “Ass Goblins of Auschwitz”.
Why is this website used by soccer moms and other “well-adjusted” people?

I reinstalled Alpha Protocol today and realized during the intro that, for some reason, every sound effect (including the voice files, but not the background music) had been replaced by the sound of the main character getting hit. The menu up/down noise had been changed to “aargh”, the voice of every character was “euugh”, and the sound of my gun was “aaaaah”.
